MCherry is a monomeric red fluorescent protein evolved from DsRed. Due to its color, monomeric stability, and low cytotoxicity, mCherry is widely used for molecular labeling and localization of cellular components, with its maximum excitation and emission wavelengths at 587nm and 610nm, respectively.
